Logo Precedents:
Could look into the idea of the logo being an actual box of some sort? Maybe when it is spread around the campus it is in the shape of a box.. Might be too much into the advertisement side of things though??
Fun interactive logo / marketing idea? Encouraging interaction towards the market.
This branding is the sort of aesthetic we are going for. The texture and grain of cardboard shows through and the bright colours are electric and exciting.
Our branding inspirations are all similar in the way in which they are clean cut and have a upcylced cardboard aesthetic. This is the sort of aesthetic we want for the branding as it acknowledges sustainability in a slight subtle way and is not overpowering in the up cycling aesthetic. We have also looked at this aesthetic because a main theme through out the discussions about the market palace have been to do with acknowledging up cycling and sustainability but not making it the core of the market palace.
Further research into the emotive reponses and connotation that colure have.
The colour orange has energy excitement and warmth as emotive responses .This is the sort of feel and atmosphere we are interested in and it is also a colour that holds minimal environmental and political reposes i.e. red labour lust and anger blue national sky ocean green nature or acid .

Logo Design:
I decided to draw up a few quick logo designs that best described how i felt about the market and what i thought of with the idea of "fuse" or "fusing". Fusing is different things, people, objects being combined together to create one. This is perfect for the market and what we are wanting to show and explain within the market.
logo one: I thought of trying to show the pulling of the different designers and majors within the creative campus and show the "fuse" between different talents by animating a stretch or pull effect within the decided name of the market.
logo two: When i first thought of fuse i immediately thought of an electrical fuse that is used within buildings and fusing wires together to create something whole like light or power - something good, helpful, initiative. This again relates back to the market and the combination of different people and products that will be available.
logo / advertising: I thought that maybe the set up of the logo around campus could be a part of the logo. For instance the logo could be printed on wood and hung with fuse wire or electrical wire - sending a clear message as well as a pun. Because the market is looking like it will have a heavy influence of recycled materials, the use of old wire or blown, un-reusable fuse wire would help to portray this over all theme.
Again, same principle of being hung by wire but maybe simple and effective. Everyones in to their minimalistic, simple design at the moment - will appeal to a large audience.
colours: When using wires at work we tend to use orange and black as they tend to be the more durable by most suppliers. Having this in mind i thought that orange and black could be a potential colour scheme as it is noticed and recognized as industrial wiring colours. - Relating back to "fuse" wire again.
Another colour combination that seems less in your face, clean, crisp - minimalistic is orange and white. White always makes thinks look more expensive and well designed. - Andy Gifford
